OGJVAMC has begun the second phase of its parking lot repaving project. The main entrance to the Medical Center is closed requiring all patients and visitors to use the back entrance off Cedar Street on the west side. Patients and visitors will drive around the VA Medical Center following the signs to the newly paved main patient parking area and outpatient clinic/emergency department entrance.
Local Features
The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will be hosting a 2K walk and health fair on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 to promote healthy living and benefit homeless Veterans. The event is open to the public of all ages. People participating in the 2K walk on the property of the VA Medical Center may do so at their convenience from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration for the 2K walk will be held at the outdoor pavilion southwest of the main building. The health fair, also located at the outdoor pavilion, will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the health fair will be held in the Holman Room in the basement of the medical center, and the 2K walk will be canceled.
